Hi. My Springer bitch is having problems with one of her eyes - I think it may be KCS. The haws are prominent on both eyes and she seems to be rolling the bad eye up, making the haw show more than normal. I pulled up the top lid and the eye is pretty bloodshot. She has a greenish discharge. I have put in Brolene (Golden Eye) drops and tried to make an appointment with the vet but could it just be she has got something in her eye? She's been going crazy in the long grass. She hasn't been worrying her eye. She is also pretty tired for her. Usually, she is under my feet all the time but just recently, she's been frantic of walks and then sparko. Funny thing is, I also have a problem eye and am knackered... Weird. Please let me have your opinion and advice. Thanks

Definately needs examining by a vet, tiredness does not cause a green discharge.

Our Golden Retriever had a green discharge in both eyes - the vet called them eye bogies which is obviously a technical term! He had blocked tear ducts which were cleared when he went in for neutering and it seems to have done the trick. The vet put some green liquid in his eyes and it was meant to appear out of his nostrils but as it didn't come out he was diagnosed with a blockage.
Lol eye bogies!! thats what i call sleep. I too think your dog would be best off at the vets, we all know how painful it can be when you get something in your eye. If it's scratching as well the poor thing won't be very comfortable
Also get thyroid checked out as sometimes
symptoms can cause problems with eyes and tiredness too.
Green discharge sounds like the eye is infected - conjunctivitis.
Best get her to the vet and let the vet give a thorough MOT.
Could be that it could be viral.
But no-one other than your vet can give you a definitive answer/diagnosis.
Thanks for all responses. Tilly's eye is much better today having used Golden Eye for two days and bathing with salt water. I think the tiredness might be due to increased frisbee chasing activity! I know I'm knackered with continual bending down, throwing, trying to find etc! I will keep an eye on the eye and if it looks bad again or the discharge comes back (I say discharge, I mean sleep) then she'll be straight off to the vet. I wanted to give her 24 hours to see if she got any better and it seems to have done the trick. Now just need to sort out the runny bottom! She's worse when she's out on a run - she seems to get so excited that she's not solid - and she drinks out of every mucky stream and pond she can find! Hey ho! The joys of dog ownership!!!
