Been shopping to Aldi today, have shopped there for approx 9 years.  When we went in to our local store they have changed everyting around. Fair enough, this happens in other stores, however, this time nothing flows, one side of store has biscuits , cakes, cereals and then on the other side of the store next to the lemonades are the cream crackers and biscuits for cheese????  Everyone was complaining as we walked around as nothing flowed and often if you followed one counter you then had to double back on yourself to get back to see another counter.  When I got to the checkout I was bemoaning the fact to the girl and I asked who had designed it.  She said 'the manager'. I said that she should tell him what the customers are saying, she said, 'I'm not telling him, but you can'. I said okay , she called him over and I said 'Sorry, but it is just a mish mash', he shrugged his shoulders, said 'Good' and walked away. I couldn't believe the cheek of the man, another lady heard and said she would never enter the shop again.  I certainly won't but I am even more mad as they don't have a number for the Head Office for me to complain to. He probably knew that I couldn't complain about him, however if anyone has a number please let me know, I am on a mission now.!!!!!

Aldi website. Hope it helps!

Edit: Though they seem to be incredibly secretive ... they say:

Why are Aldi stores not listed in the phone book?
The Store Manager or Area Manager handles all customer enquires, so the easiest way to contact them is by returning to the store. This way our service to customers is prompt and personal, ensuring complete satisfaction.

There doesn't seem to be any way of contacting Head Office. :(

The Store Location line phone number is 08705134262. You may be able to speak to a person and get the details you need????

No, tried that one, it is an automated line that only has info on store locations and opening times. Also it does seem very secretive as you have to contact your local store to discuss any complaints, now that would be a waste of time wouldn't it.  I was thinking of going in and asking to be given the contact number for the Area Manager and or a Head Office number, there isn't even an address for a Head Office, very cloak and dagger. Still on a mission!

Not anything to do with Aldi's but we went out for a meal with OH's parents at the weekend.  Supposedly very nice restaurant with awards which had been recommended.  Never again.  OH's steak came out rare (had asked for well-done) blood all over the rest of his food.  Complained, sent it back it or another piece came back out which was totally full of gristle to the point that he had to leave it in the end (didn't want to complain again as the rest of the table had finished eating by now).  When the waitress came to clear the plates I pointed out that the steak had been left as it was all gristle to which replied......

"So, I'm not the Chef"!!:mad::eek::mad:  Not only that but a few minutes later she came back over to the table and tried to clear wine glasses that not only had wine still in them but were sitting next to a half full bottle of wine.  Told her that they were still being used and they were plonked down on the table again - after her fingers had been inside the glasses and no clean ones were offered.

Suffice to say the Manager was called over and I hope the girl has now been taught how to speak to customers in future but we certainly wont' be going back there!! :mad:

Stores do this to 'encourage' customers to buy things that they wouldn't normally buy.  Matalans is another good example for this - you queue up for ages (they only evr have 2 tills open) and while you're queing you happen to spot a few select items placed in the 'cattle line up' for you to pick up and say "oh, this is cheap, I might need it one day!"  LOL, well that's what they think anyway, never works on me

But seriously, they change stores around so that popular lines are next to not so popular or seasonal items to encourage more sales - plain and simple it's all about money folks and they want yours

I realise why they do this, you almost come to expect it now and again, however not only was it a right hotch potch it was the attititude of the moronic manager that has got my goat up.
Thanks for the help on phone numbers and addresses. The phone number only really leads to the accounts departments etc, but does give the Head Office address.  Guess what, they WILL be getting a letter about this, I am not letting this drop.  In this day and age when they are supposedly after your custom, you shouldn't expect this sort of behaviour, my dogs have better manners than that. Also, I was very polite in my manner, I don't believe in going in all guns blazing, I don't think it gets you anywhere. However, in this case I wish I hadn't already paid for my shopping as I would have given them their shopping trolley back full of food and enjoyed letting them struggle to find where to put everything back on the shelves.

Have you tried looking on the Companies House website, you can find details for every registered company there. Not sure if there would be a telephone number, but maybe worth a quick look? good way of checking if a 'company' is 'real' as in registered; on ebay if you wanted to buy something a bit pricy, make sure they are genuine.

Thanks. Isabel gave me the link for it on an earlier mail.  Have now written to them.  Thanks everybody.
