is there anybody out there that uses pet log? I am really annoyed. Blade is a full member and I pay £8.99 a month for a year and thats it for the rest of his life, which to me is cheap includes DNA testing and tag etc. Now blade has lost his tag and I have rung up to get another one. I get told on the phone that they don't supply tags anymore and to get a tag of my own stating on it that he is chipped! Now whats the point of me paying £8.99 a month for this service if they are not going to fulfill it! Can someonbe please tell me if they have had this sort of problem with them before?

We lost out tag last year and had to pay £4.99 for a replacement :rolleyes:

so they do replace them then? I just couldn't get my head around paying for a service when I don't have a tag from them .... If I wanted one that said 'I am chipped' I would have done that and saved myself £8.99 a month

Your paying for all the services that they will provide,should your dog be lost or stolen, the tag has a number unique to your dog and people quote this number if they ring Petlog, having found your dog.

They will advertise etc if you report your dog lost, the DNA is done so that nobody can dispute the fact that the dog does indeed belong to you.

I got a new (really nice tag) engraved with all my girl's info after her tag got a weird stain on it and it was getting worse, so I wanted to replace it. I was told they would charge me for another, so just got my own done. I got mine on Ebay with engraving free, and it is a nice tag with a dog paw on one side. It is cheeky though. Like you I paid for a year. The tags aren't exactly robust either.

Thats what I am cross about... when you got your new tag, did you engrave the petlog number etc on to the tag? Wasn't sure if we are allowed to do that??

my dog has two tags, one with personal info (telephone number and post code) and the second have:

"I am microchipped and DNA profiled."

and then underneath that I had engraved:"In an emergency call:" and put the petlog telephone number down that was on the tag, and the reference number. I don't care if you're not supposed to. I have paid for the service and I wasn't going to pay for a new tag when the one they provided was rubbish! It got a water mark/stain inside it, and the circle part for attaching to a ring was really flimsy. I got the engraving done for free, and the tag is a nice quality one from ebay. Much better and sturdier than the petlog one and less likely to drop off or get damaged!

Thanks for that, will bbe putting their details on also then as i couldn't see the pont in paying for something if Iam not getting it iykwim.... Will go look for a new tag :-)
