I am always having to ask for a password to login to the forum.
I know my user name & passowrd but each time I try them it just says at the top of the page "not logged in"

Does anyone know why this is happening & what I can do about it?

You must be logged in now, cos its showing me that you are :) I've never logged out, been here for years :D Sorry I can't help.

The only way I can log in is by requesting a new password EVERY time I want to
login to the forum.

Have you tried changing your password????
I had the same problem when I logged out. Changed my password to one I wanted and I dont have any problems.
Might be worth trying that :)

Have you asked admin why it's happening? You could try not logging out, I never do.

How do I do that? I think i have checked this before & all was OK but worth checking again.

I have never logged out as I never do from sites just in case i have the same problems.

click on tools, internet options and security, set it to allow all cookies :)

go to the FAQ section of this board,
find  '' my cookies have been disabled'' thread.
i had the same problem clicked on that link and,
i haven't looked back :-)

I had this problem a while back and as others have said it is to do with cookies..as the only cookies im aware of are the ones i have with me coffee, i asked other half about enabling them, cant remember how the conversation went but he did tell me to be careful because it can affect the security on your pc??? so all i did once i managed to get onto the forum was bookmarked the site under my favourites, i just click on that everyday now :-)

Hi Weima,

I personally wouldn't enable all cookies - it's a security issue if you do. 

Go into "Tools" on the top of your screen, then click on :-
"Internet Options" then
"Privacy" then
choose "Advanced"
then check the box which says "Over ride automatic cookie handling"
Then check the "prompt" option for allowing first and third party cookies.

This will enable you to allow or reject cookies from any sites you visit.  With CD for example, when the box pops up to say the site wants to put cookie on your PC you get the option to "always allow" or "block" - check "always allow" and you should be able to log in and out at your leisure.

On a personal note I delete all cookies and cached files at least once daily - case there's any sneaky ones about :P
