hi there i posted a question last week about my freinds mastiffs,she thought her girl was in pup any way she took er to the vets and it seems its a phantom, anyway her mum as gone on holiday and left my friend to look after her male shih tzu she as had him for a weeek now today he as started to go mad to get at her mastiff girl to mount her she brought him in is this normal he really keeps barking as if she is in season again but obviously she is not im sorry to keep asking these questions but my freind doesnt know what is happening

I would be worried that she has an infection, as males will think a bitch is in season as infection smells very similar, especially to an inexpereinced dog.

hi thanx for ure answer,when she took her to the vets they checked the girl out and she was in good health,she is going to take her back to the vets if it persists thank you

Some male dogs find a bitch having a phantom irresistible. I know, because my nine year old always get bad phantoms, and some males behave as if she was in heat, they get absolutely besotted.

thanx again for ure reply , he is still going mad for her my freind phoned the vets and told him they are going to scan her again as the vet said somtimes the dog will go mad if theres puppies there as well as a phantom or a infection she should be able to rule somthing out by monday thanx again for your advice :confused:
