I remember visiting "breeding kennels" near there but it was about 15yrs ago - I was helping a friend of a friend (who didn't drive) look for a Westie pup.
All I can recall is an elderly woman showing us around a huge barn filled with litters of pups at various ages :-(
She finally reached a litter of Westies....mother allegedly was "around". Amongst this litter was one pup who was much bigger than all his "siblings" and as predicted the potential buyer fell in love with this "big healthy livelier" puppy.
We were escorted to an old caravan ("The Office") which stank of urine (I think it was dog's urine?!

) and she proceded to try and sell this pup...
No, it wasn't KC registered....Buyer said that wasn't important....I argued it was and that without it the pup certainly wasn't worth the price that was being asked (I honestly can't remember exactly how much that was now) but to cut a long story short...I practically dragged the buyer out and we left WITHOUT this poor pup. :-(
What a guilt trip. :-( :-(
My first view of a puppy farm.

I sincerely hope that things have changed now. :-(
