Topic Dog Boards / Showing / entry fees!
- By king of bling Date 22.04.06 09:12 UTC
Hi guys, going to sound a bit dumb but I am entering two dogs for the first time at an open show next month. I am only used to entering one dog so bear with me! I am unsure about the entry fees. It says, ''first entry from each exhibitor. Inc Cat @£5.00
                                                                                        Subsequent entrys @£1.00''
Both dogs will be entered into the breed classes so is that £5.00 each for their class and any other classes entered are a £1.00 0R Exhibits first entry at £5.00 and any other dog is a £1.00???
Also what does postmark mean when it says entry close 22 April(postmark) Is the 22nd the last day it can be posted?
Thanks guys, Clare

Hi Clare,
It's a bit ambiguous (sp?) - you could also read it as £5 for the first entry and £1 for any more, especially since it includes the catalogue.  I think I'd give the secretary a quick buzz to be sure.  If you're cutting it fine with the postmark, it could be worth getting a certificate of posting if you are near a PO.  I always try to get these - one of the few things that's free!!

Clare are these the two dogs with different owners but you show or are they both yours? If the first then it definitely will be as I said in the first post.

Yes i would check that as well because normally it says 'first entry £5.00' and then subsequent entries with the same dog - £1.00' as yours says 'first entry from each exhibitor i would double check. Yes postmark it the date that is stamped on your entry when it is collected, i find that most open shows let you enter even if its a day or few late, though of course its best not to risk it! :D Good luck at the show!

Hi guys well both dogs are in my name but my parents own one of the dogs. We registered her in my name to make it easier with the paper work entering shows and that. Thanks guys, Clare

I just realised that youa re in Ireland where it is the first dog that is a higher charge and after that each next entry is cheaper.

Much nicer way I think encourages you to enter more dogs.

The good thing about being over here is that you get the best of both worlds, IKC and KC. Just wish we had a few more KC All breed championship shows as we have to be selective about the shows we do across the water as the price adds up!! Buts its worth it!!
