Bit of a strange question for a dog forum but im hoping someone will know the answer. Im having a bit of a clear out and ive got loads of barbie and Cindy stuff in the loft from when I was a kid, so some of it is nearly 30 years old and some is older as it was handed down to me. Im doing a boot sale at the weekend and wanted to find out how much its worth and whether its worth taking it to the bootsale or selling it on ebay I cant find anything old on ebay, was just wondering if there is anywhere I can find out how much the stuff is worth ?
Have you checked Ebay in the US as opposed to ebay.co.UK? Only I have a friend (in Sweden) who buys and sells old Barbies and Cindys on Ebay.COM and there is a HUGE market for this apparently.
Agree with GM, dont car boot them you'll get a pittance. definately ebay them as GM says or look up collectors sites on the net. Was Cindy British and Barbie American? ( I never had dolls :( think my dad wanted a boy..he taught me things like Maggot racing (ick!) lol !!???) Good Luck :D
I didn't play with dolls either. I just played with toy DOGS. :D Even had a dog in my dolly pram, ROFL. (Oh and I do mean the stuffed variety, not toy BREEDS. :) )
When I got to 12 I started showing guinea pigs. :)
ooooh it was great fun!! (but not for the sqeamish!) You put your maggots in powder paint over night (the powder is just like the sawdust fishermen keep them in, in tins) and they ingest the paint..so you have bright blue, red, green ones in the morning..pick a colour...and watch them go!!!! :D (its not a fast paced sport granted!!! :D :D :D )
So do I but it's too cold for maggies here. It puts my marking wood lice at 9 YO to shame (I fancied myself a bit of a naturalist and tried to monitor our bugs)
>he taught me things like Maggot racing (ick!) lol !!???
ha ha ha! Perhaps it's because I had a brother then that my dad only encouraged tadpole collecting. :D I had lots of dolls and as I got older the things used to give me nightmares - give me frogs any day :D
I played mostly with my cindy/barbie dogs, I had three Afghans, a poodle and a old english sheepdog !!! not forgetting the horses and the cat

A few years ago I sold some old Sindy stuff on ebay for someone and went 1/2 on the profit.Alot did have the original catalougues with them which bumped the price up but I was amazed at what the clothes went for even without and in all conditions. The dolls and accesories aren't worth much unless pristine and boxed or rare but the clothes are definatly worth selling especialy vintage. It may be worth looking at the labels as they issued several collections and including that info on the listings.Even if collectors don't want them "lots" of Barbie clothes do much better on ebay than at a boot sale :)
Ebay is definitely they way to go with old Sindy stuff (not sure about Barbie, not my 'thing' LOL)
I sold a lot of vintage Sindy items on there last year, dating back to late 70's early 80's, and I couldn't believe the amount of bidders on some things, especially clothes and accessories. If I recall, there is a section for older Sindy things, I think under the 'pedigree' brand of Sindy.
Hope that helps, good luck.
Claire (who isn't really addicted to ebay - honest!!)

Make sure you list them under Sindy and not Cindy!
Does anyone else remember Tressy ? or am I just imagining I can remember her she had hair that you could make longer or shorter by turning a key on her back (that is at least I think she did )

I remember! One of my friends had a Tressy - and yes, it was just as you described. :) Edit: and here she is! :D
In the sixties i had a choice of either the Sindy or Tressie.I chose Tressie with a turquoise dress etc, but for years wished i had chosen Sindy and felt so left out.
I had a Sindy and a Patch (Sindy's little sister). I thought it was good that you didn't have to buy a new doll with every new outfit - the clothes were sold separately. That's long gone, which is why little girls have squillions of Barbies instead of just the one - but with an enormous wardrobe!
