Topic Dog Boards / Health / Dog keeps being sick

My cavalier Flynn keeps being sick.  I am not sure why.  He is now only bringing up bile.  I don't like to seem him like this.  Is there anything I can do for him :(

Only the standard things of ensuring he has access to plenty of fresh clean water, starve him for 24hrs then start him off on chicken and rice before introducing his usual food gradually.

Keep a close eye on him too and phone your vet if he shows signs of distress.  It is horrid to see them poorly but just like when we have an upset tum, they often need peace & quiet and a bland diet for a while.

TLC does wonders!

Edited to say: sometimes if it's just bile, it could be because he has an empty tum (search for recent thread on subject).

Thanks Jackyjat.  The bile is just because he has been sick soooooo many times that that is all that is left.

I am giving him plenty of TLC .  At the moment he is lying on his back with his legs up in the air on the sofa LOL

put a half teaspoonful of sugar and a quarter of salt in his water .

Poor chap, hope he's feeling better this morning? :-)

Thanks for the advice.  Yes he seems much better this morning although we did have a broken night with him wanting to go out to do a wee.  He is a lot happier today though and back to his waggy self

If it continues it may also be worth taking him for a check up, sometimes our dogs can eat something that is undigestable that will sit in the stomach and cause a dog to continually be sick until whatever it is is finally brought up, has he possibly eaten anything he shouldn't have, any missing socks??? Or picked something up on his walk? Otherwise as Jackyjat has suggested chicken and rice or white fish with rice is good for binding again.

Don't allow it to go on for longer than 48 hours though, get him to the vet if it does not clear up. There are many possibilities for a dog being sick.
