My pup is trying to eat the entire contents of my garden. Does anyone know of a list of common plants that are harmful to dogs, so that I can take them out, if I have any.
Secondly, she is doing her best to capture the bumble bees which are slow at the moment. I feel I should have some sort of sting remedy on standby, just in case she is stung. Can anyone recommend what I need, although if she is stung in her mouth, I would take her straight to the vet anyway, but I wondered if immediate treatment would lessen the problem. I have never had a dog that consumes so much outside!
Piriton for stings.
I,m no gardener but I do know slug pellets are lethal also I think daffodil bulbs and some of that mulchy stuff thats made from cocoa shells is a no no.
Be careful with your little darling they are great at getting up to mischeif

Funny, I was just sitting outside today, pulling another rock out of his mouth, another brick, don't eat the tree...it's endless what he puts in there. Some other posters on CD have found these links for poisonous plants:
http://www.dogpatch.org/doginfo/plants.htmlhttp://www.dog.com/vet/holidays/02.htmlhttp://www.doberdogs.com/Toxic.htmlhttp://www.takingthelead.co.uk/2/Health/poisonplants.htmAntihistamines are good for immediate treatment of bee stings if your dog is having a reaction. I know other posters have talked about a different brand but I pulled out my vet book and it says 2-4 mg/kg of diphenhydramine (Benadryl) is safe though if it's a pup I'd ask my vet what to have on hand. Like people, not all dogs have terrible reactions to bee stings. Milo was stung when he was about 12 weeks old and just yipped for a few seconds. I think I got way more stings than he did on that occasion. Thankfully neither of us is sensitive.

At least I was half right for once :D :)
It might be worth putting up a temporary fence over a none planted part of your garden to keep your pup supervised even when you can not watch her, even none harmful plants are going to upset her tummy, not to mention snails, stones etc. So it might be worth thinking about.
Thank you for all the helpful replies. Off to the chemist tomorrow and gardening for the rest of the weekend, though not sure I can tell my daffodil from my dandelion!:rolleyes:
