did anyone watch Eyam this morning I thought it was a excellent portrayal of the story by a group of theatre school teenagers.
Had me in tears..

Definitely will be making a trip there myself.

We watched it - it was wonderful - the acting was so strong.   I do hope they repeat it.   Holding the production in the church in Eyam was such a fantastic idea.

It's a powerful story and one that we personally relate to - the Rector of Eyam, Rev Montpassent was granted the living of Earkring, in Nottinghamshire, after the plague (think it was 4 or 5 years later) but the villagers wouldn't allow him into the church at first - and he used to preach under a tree, which is still there, on the edge of one of our friend's fields.    They still hold a service there, once a year, and the Eakring villagers still go to Eyam once a year as well.

I watched it, purely by accident though, and yes I was also in tears!  Sent shivers down my spine.  I am just sorry that I missed the beginning but hopefully it will be repeated soon.
