How many dogs are you allowed to own on residential property? I have searched online and so far no luck as most of the sites I click on are down or wont load.
Im asking because my sister is going away for 3 months and wants me to look after her dog, and I already have 2. I dont want to be breaking any laws by taking in my sisters dog.
Any information would be great.
Oh I live in Glasgow, not sure if that will make a difference.
Thankyou

All councils have different rules; it also depends on whether it's council-owned property or privately-owned. Many areas have no restrictions for private properties.
As JG has said, it really depends on your local authority. Also if you own the property. When I lived with my ex we had up to 7 dogs (private property). I'm now in council property and am allowed a maximum of 3 (boo hoo. I want more ) Check with your local authority and/or landlord, if you have one.
It isn't normal to have restrictions on the domestic animals you keep unless it is rented property, thank god, though some councils have tried to put an arbitrary nmber adn require change of use, yet they can't say to what? A zoo, bording kennels your not.
I know plenty of people locally who have 10 plus dogs, and many of them don't bred.
