Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Norfolk Terrier - Difficulty in Sexing P
- By guest [gb] Date 05.08.02 21:03 UTC
A friend has recently bought a Norfolk Terrier and was disturbed when two different people suggested that it was a little boy and not a little girl. A Vet said she was 99% sure it was a girl! Can anyone throw light on this problem please?

My email address is kaysymonds@tiscali.co.uk

Is there any incidence of hermaphrodism in Norfolks? We see it occassionally in my breed, they usually appear female until you look very closely! Neutering corrects the problem. No idea if it appears in your breed though.

I was going to say the same as the above posting.
Hermaphroditism or as some call it intersex.
Its where the dog or bitch is not one sex or the other.
Its not something any breeder would want in their
pups. So make sure you tell her to contact the breeder
first and tell her.
I do not know anything about the Norfolk Terrier, but
in my breed it has been known to occur. Thank fully
I have not seen it.
