Hi all,

I have some beef knuckles being delivered with my Landywoods order tomorrow. I was just wondering if it would be ok to give my Dobe one of these straight from the freezer? What do people generally do with these once the dog has had a good gnaw..? Can I just store it in the fridge in a carrier bag and let him have it again the next day, and after how many days should I bin it?

I also have some chunked beef shin being delivered. I was planning to give him some of these as a rmb meal, but have since read that weight-bearing bones can be difficult to digest. Would it be ok though because it is chunked?

Thanks :D

Mine wont eat them frozen, just too cold for him I think, but it is ok to do it.

As for the beef shin, mine never shown signs of this (he doesnt have it all the time though) :)

Well I gave my pooch his first beef knuckle yesterday, frozen :D He absolutely loved it and was in the garden gnawing away for over an hour! I was amazed as usually he doesn't leave my side for more than a couple of minutes (he's a velcro Dobe). If I disappear from his sight he'll look around the house for me, but yesterday I could have left the country and he wouldn't have cared! Abandoned for a bone  :D Must say though that when I got into bed last night (he sleeps on it), he let off two of the stinkiest rippers ever

Not tried the beef shin yet. Gonzo, what breed do you have? Just wondering if my boy will be able to crunch it up ok as the chunks look very thick.

I have a Patterdale Terrier, so if he can eat it, im sure a Dobe could chew it, lol :)

Oh :D I'm sure he'll be fine then. My friend has a patterdale terrier who is now almost 12. In his younger years he would catch and chomp his way through entire rabbits!

I know what you mean, Gonz is nearly 3 now, and for a little dog (well, I look at him as a big dog) he can eat is way through any bones I give him. Sometimes though he just carries it around like a dam carrying her pups. Hes very strange, buts thats why we love them, for their little quirks! :)
