Thanks everyone for the useful advice I've been given over the last few months whilst searching for a Ridgeback and then during the preparation for his arrival into our family.

We collected Earl on Friday and already he's made himself at home, taken over the sofa and made firm friends with my 2yo daughter.  If anyone is interested we've posted a few photos of him here no doubt we'll be adding more photos every day!!!

Will probably be asking for a ton more advice in the coming weeks - apologies in advance :-)

Sorry, hadn't realised I couldn't do that.  Hope it's OK to include the link in my profile instead?

Big up BMC :-) :-) :-)

This puppy is making a dramatic difference to our family already.  My 2yo daughter has suddenly learnt to put toys back in the toy box if she wants them to remain in one piece!  Which is excellent progress as I have to ration out the toys to make sure there is nothing lying around for Earl to get hurt with.

Sssssshhhhhhh Minny_Minsk!!! you have to whisper that!! I'll never hear the end of it from him!! (But thank you!! :D)
I think there must be disney film out or something as little kids keep running across the park to him shouting "Look Snow Dogs Mum!!"...he's lapping up the attention  and even sits, whimpers pathetically and hold up his paw if anyone dares to walk past him and not stop to give him the adoration he 'thinks' he deserves!!
- By mollymoto [gb] Date 11.04.06 09:00 UTC
Oh he's adorable ... i want one!

Luckily Earl was the only one with no white on his feet and only a tiny patch of white almost hidden under his armpit.  The lack of white was one of the reasons we chose him, that and his lovely ridge and mask - and not to discount he was the one who snuggled up to us and decided we were his :-)
