I am a Mental Health Social Worker and one of people I work with is about to have his home repossessed.  This guy's boisterous Staffie is the only thing that makes this man's life worth living and I am very concerned that to be separated from his beloved dog will have an extremely detrimental effect on the man's mental health.  He doesn't care about himself or about his home any more but he does care about his dog.
When the time comes for me to find him accommodation, I'm not convinced I'll be able to find him somewhere, in the short term, where he will be able to take his dog with him.
Does anyone know of any charities, fostering services where his dog could be cared for in the short term, until he can find and settle somewhere permanent where he can take his dog?

I'm in Kent...

I'd be really grateful if anyone has any constructive ideas on how I can prevent the permanent separation of this man and his dog.

They usually work with the elderly, temporary care of the dog while they are in hospital, for instance, but I wonder if they would help in this case?
