It will be my BC's 2nd birthday on Wednesday so I have bought him a treat ;-). I bought him a leg of lamb on the bone. As he has never had raw meat or bones before, can I give him this as it is raw and do I have to watch him with the bone bit? Will he eat the bone and can it splinter and hurt him?

Should be fine - but just watch him and take it away if you have any concerns :) If he hasn't had raw before he may not know what to do with it to begin with :D :D My older dog would roll on raw bones/meat to begin with

Well he is now having his birthday treat!!

When I first gave him the lamb leg he stood barking and pouncing on it

He did work it out in the end (after about half an hour) and stood eating it Then he settled down and has now eaten about half. He keeps getting up and having a good face rub everywhere so it must be good :-D :-D

Hasn't reached the bone yet though

Didn't realise it was a whole leg of lamb WITH all the meat :Dc It might be a good idea to take it away from him until tomorrow (if he'll let you) - he could well have an upset tum, particularly if there is a lot of fat on it :D

I did think that it was a little big so I cut alot of the meat off to give him tommorow

He has just bit the bone and it made a loud crack and frightened him off!!! He is a wuss :-D :-D

Mine had lamb bones at the weekend for the first time and one did have a nice runny bum the next day!!  so you might want to limit how much he has in one day.

Well the crack noise of the bone has scared him off so it is here if Kodi wants it. ;-D

We will give him more meat that I had cut off tonight.
