i have got to get a urine sample from my bitch tomorrow and as thick as this might sound, how do i get one, considering the 'squat' very low to the ground! any ideas welcome

You could try posting an old (but obviously clean!) baking tray or frying pan underneath, then pouring the contents (lovely!!) into a pot to take to the vet's.

A foil take-away carton taped to a stick works - tricky though!

I do it two ways it depends on whether they do it on flags/concrete  or grass if it is on flags and pools (I have a cat who is diabetic so always have needles to hand) I draw the pee up without touching the ground..they only need a bit if I cant do this I use a saucer when they stoop shove it under from the back.
I always ask vet for a plastic bottle to put the pee in it always useful to have one handy .

Hi,

I find a ladel easiest to do this.  Pour some boiling water over the ladel first just to make sure it's completely clean, then away you go  :-)
