Our pup came home on saturday, and can't get my head around how quickly he has settled down,We were not going to use a crate but after 2 days decided that we needed one,we put him in it monday after lunch and his play and made sure he'd been to the toilet,he whined for about 10 mins repeated the same after tea,and after his last feed at about 10pm and settled him down in our room.
I set the alarm to take him out at 3am put him out,he did what he had to,and we went back to bed and he woke at about 7.
We have only had a couple of accidents in the house my fault not his,he now goes in his crate on his own to sleep,He's eating well,4 meals a day,and he's a very lively energetic pup,but we think he's fab.
He's hard work, but now we have him in a routine it's alot easier.
Sally.

Glad your little un is settling in well, what breed is he?

Puppies are hard work, at times(!) but well worth the effort and it sounds like you are doing all the right things with him :)

Kind of  makes me want another pup...oh, but wait, I have one already...he's just 16 months, 32kg but still is a puppy to me!

Thats just lovely, those sharp little teeth are awful tough though, Our boy is almost 5 months and is still having to be reminded about his sharp teeth.
Trouble is these dear little puppies grow so big so quickly, that you mustn't worry (cor thats hard) about the nuisance bits. coz in no time they are grown dogs...
