Hi, we have been given a digibox for our main tv downstairs, which works great, but now the kids want a digibox for their portable tv upstairs - only I was wondering, because the portable isn't plugged into the roof aerial (it's just got a small aerial on top of the tv), would a digibox still work with that? If anyone knows....don't want to go buying one and then find it's not going to work!

I was going to get one last year for the kids but was told I needed an outside aerial so got them a digi sender instead and the only problem with that is they have to watch whatever channel its on downstairs which is ok when I'm watching ordinary tv but not if I want to watch sky  and then I have to be careful that what I watch is suitable for them - and by that I mean scarey not rude ;) :P
That would be no good then - they don't want to watch what I do that's the problem!! I suppose I could unplug the one I've got and try it upstairs, it's just setting the thing up again - last time I unplugged the video player it never worked with the TV again!

Is that with a portable aerial though?
Hi Sue,
Have you had an aerial connection put in though (to the main one on roof), or has it just got the little portable aerial that comes with the tv? My neighbour's son has got a digibox with his portable tv, but they've had proper aerial connections put in bedrooms.

Reception can depend on the area tho'. We've tried getting my son's digibox running in Cambridge, even with a portable booster aerial and he still can't get it to work properly :(

Hi. I bought one for my daughters bedroom and it works ok.
She has a portable tv but with a better portable arial i bought. It also has a booster on it.
I would suggest that you try your one first to see.
My mum was intrested in buying one so i took my daughters around to try but, it was no good in her area. It really does depend on where you live and what the reception is like.
Yes you're right, I'm just going to have to take this one from downstairs and try it!
