Hi all
Going to a church wedding all day next saturday. Only been to one before (minus hat) and this time my friend has lent me a lovely hat to go with my outfit. But - when you are in the church do you keep your hat on or take it off? It's quite big and I don't want to block anyone's view! I can't remember what people did at the last wedding as it was a few years ago. Please help before people talk about me

i keep mine on! think about the hair underneath

As far as I am aware and can remember, ladies keep their hats on. :)
Hope you have a lovely time, I love going to weddings.

Wow everyone that was quick!! I will wear my hat with pride. The hair underneath will have to do. Can you fit hair straighteners in a handbag???

One wedding I was at the ladies took the hats of when we sat down for the meal. I think nowadays people are quite relaxed about the etiquette of hat wearing. I was also told at another wedding when the ladies at the top table took their hats of then every one else could follow suit. Hope you have a lovely day out.

Having been Mother of the Bride 20 months ago, I was told that the rest of the women should be guided by what I did! After completing the formalities, I decided to remove my hat to enjoy the rest of the meal, and the other ladies did the same!
Have a wonderful day and enjoy. :)
