I have noticed today our dog's sneezing a lot

Last nite he was a bit down and wanted to rest, but he's been fine today, ate his breakfast, he's drinking fine.
Can they get a cold like we do and what to do about it?

Dogs don't generally get colds but some variants of KC can include what we would consider cold symptoms. Sniffles, lethargy, sneezing, runny nose etc.
Keep an eye on him and keep him isolated for now...if he's no better than ring the vet.

Many thx for your advice labmad,
he's been his usual self today apart from he's sneezing a lot and he's got a runny nose.
I bough him a new sqeeky toy, he absolutely loves it.
I will keep an eye on him and wont take him out in the park.
Thx again,
My dog sometimes gets a runny nose more than usual when the weather is a bit cold, don't know wether it's the same as a human cold but i am sure they feel effects of the cold weather.

I would consider Kennel Cough to be the equivalent to a Cold
Yeah i agree it sounds like kennel cough. My dogs just had it. Seems to be doing the rounds at the moment.

Hope he gets better soon...I'm sure a bit of extra TLC will help him.

Thank you guys for all your replies :-)
He's not better today and he was hyperventilating earlier, so I am taking him to the vets in half an hour. Poor little soul, it's been one thing after another, bless him.
Is kennel cough dangerios? Is this something they get vaccinated against in their regular jabs?

It's not dangerous to them but can in some cases lead to complications. there are vaccines available but I personlly wouldn't go down that route because there are so many strains of it that they could still get it despite being vaccinated. I know a dog that was vaccinated and still caught it.
Hope he's better soon

Thx labmad :-)
He's not got kennel cough. Vet said his nasal passages leding to his troat appear to be congested so he put him on a five day course of AB's. He's still sneezing a lot today but not 'snorting' as much.
Fingers crossed he should be getting better now
:-)
