I wondered what you all thought of Beta variety of food? I have fed this recently, usually feed Arden Grange but having managed to miss ordering the new supply before I ran out, I had to try a bag of something whilst I waited for delivery, and used beta active. It seemed to be ok no upset tummy due to change, and they like it. As the other thread was about bakers, I didnt want to get this confused with that one. I just wondered what anyone thinks of this food.

As with all foods in the UK you can be confident it is safely and completely formulated so it is really just down to whether it is suiting your dog. I have used this particular food for many years including rearing a couple of litters that did every bit as well as the first which I reared on a much more expensive puppy food. I also had a very delicately stomached terrier that had colitis so bad as a youngster I did not think she would live long that having initialling been settled on Chappie (another great food!) I tried on Beta as I found the smell of half empty Chappie tins in my fridge a little difficult to live with ;) She lived to her 16th year :)
Poppy started off on beta and whilst she enjoyed the taste, I found her pooh was too soft (often runny) - we switched to arden grange and have found it fantastic - pooh is now firmer, weight has gone on (nicely though) and she seems alot more content after her meals.
The one problem with arden grange is the ordering, although they are fantastic at fast delivery, I'm fortunate that I live only a short drive from their place so can pick it up if need be.
I have heard that some places do stock it - how true this is I do not know as I've never needed to look.
How about ordering an extra smaller sack for 'emergencies only' - that way if there ever was a problem with delivery you know you'll have a few days standby
On another note, have you seen arden granges treats?? they are identical to james wellbeloved crackersnacks - look, smell, not sure about taste though LOL

It didn't suit my dog. Doesn't mean there is anything particularly wrong with it though. Horses for courses

I've bought in a couple of puppies that were reared on Beta puppy and while thier body condition looked good thier poo was very runny. Mine were then changed to PAH and thrived with nice firm poo too.
Its ok keeping a smaller bag as a back up but remember to keep an eye on the expiry date and use before then otherwise its false economy.
