Hi everyone as you know my labrador came into heat and i was a little worried, Well now i am totally confused.
Today is day 7 since she came into heat well there is no blood at all and still no swelling i am sure this is not normal anyone have an theories on whats going on or is it typical for a first heat to be like this.

I do not want to worry and rush her off to the vets if its normal as i dont want to look like an idiot.

thanks in advance

Hi, if there's no swelling or no blood what makes you think she's in season.  i haven't read your other thread.  I've just found your other thread, all dogs are different just like woman, dont worry to much from reading your other posts she sounds very happy in herself.

She had bleeding but today there is none at all, I posted a thread the other day about her being in heat.
I have a german shepherd bitch and her cycles were nothing like this.

The reason i knew she was in heat is because there was blood in her bed, it seemed to stop then it got abit heavier now its stopped completely nothing at all.
She had me very confused vet also says she was in heat.

She could well be having a split season.......keep an eye on her, as she could start again in a week or so's time, then you have to start from day 1 again.

Or she could just be cleaning herself more so that you don't see the blood. Many bitches don't swell very much until late on in her season. All you an do is keep an eye on her!

Hi

I would say it is her first season and her body is as confused as you are. Keep a eye on her and stop worrying about it

My girls especially as they get older never show much colour and some hardly swelled at all.

Well my bitch was like that this time, noticed blood on day 1, then basically nothing for a week, still she stood and was mated on day 11 so she was in season all along, then after the matings stated bleeding like we lived in a slaughter house, LOL, just been confirmed pregnant today.

Well she seems very happy and just as loving if not more and i called the vet today and she does not seem to worried so i will just keep an eye on her.
She is still not going to be out of my sight as i am not having any mistakes lol glad there is no dogs roaming around here well not that i have seen anyway.

Thanks for everyones advice :)
