I'm so proud! As some of you may know, my son Tom has been struggling with injury in his bid to run the London Marathon for Kidney Research. Well some good news!! We've just got home after seeing him complete the Stafford half marathon in 2 hours exactly. He needed some treatment by the physios at the finish but its fantastic for him psychologically to have completed it. He's got massive blood blisters though. He has to wear gel thingies in his trainers to stop his shins hurting but they have caused the blisters I think.
Been there Had the blisters & yes I did the London Marathon & managed to finish & the elation when I crossed the line is undiscribeable it was truly magic :D
Whey hey :D :D :D :D WELL DONE TOM :D (I am waiting to see a specialist about mine so am well out of running for a while :() 2 hours is a great time considering he is injured :) Is he still planning on doing London???? Lea :)
Yes Lea he is still planning on doing London. He's not going to worry about time though, he just wants to get around as he doesn't want to let anyone down.
You must be sooo proud!!! fit to burst I'd imagine :D Tom sounds like a Great Guy,Ive got such admiration for those that get out there and do something for others! Lots of Luck for him for London!
