I hold all sorts of conversations with my dog. They range from "Oi, don't you suck your teeth at me" to quite deep philosophical debates. But if he thinks I'm several sandwiches short of a picnic he's had the the decency not to tell me yet. Although whilst he can cope with all this "come and go and talk of Michaelangelo" stuff, he does draw the line at my singing. ;)

Yep, there the only ones who will always listen
Me to, i'm suprised i haven't been locked up

i talk to them all the time
i ask them if they want dinner or want to go for a walk or we will be lying on the lounge( well actually those to will be lying on the lounge and ill be allowed to have half a couch seat which with my lounges is me with my legs crossed and squished onto the arm chair) ill just chat to them tell them they need a bath or just talk in general
i got some weird looks the other day when i was walking them and chatting away to them but i dont care they love being spoken to the cavalier will make these weird noises back at me as if she is trying to talk to me although in her head im sure she is saying does this idiot every shut up

The neighbours are used to me now, I'm sure they think I'm odd but harmless :D I'm using a delta walker at the moment after a slipped disc. Took Zymi for a walk and found myself having a conversation with him about how bad the path was

I talk to my two all the time, it drives my 14yr old daughter mad and she says it embarrasing in front of her friends and asks me not to when they come round, but I can't help myself.
We talk about everything, well they always agree and never put down my opinions

.
They do particuarly love it when I tell them they are just beautiful or handsome though LOL

Yep i talk to my 2 as well, although they do think i'm mad by the look on their faces :-) Mind you JJ will now "talk" back in his own language, he's probably telling me to shut up, LOL
Luckily we have neighbours who are as mad as us, so they toatally understand.

Not only do I talk to my dogs but they talk back! WITH their own voices!! LOL
I may be putting my head on the chopping block of "whoa!! she's a weirdo!!" here (LOL) but myself AND my hubby sit here imagining what the dogs are saying and they all have different voices/accents LOL
(Is getting ready to admit I made need therapy

)
Debs
I have great chats with my girls- generally one-way. They don't say much, and sometimes I have to get abit cross with them when they ignore me.
I always whisper ' remember mummy loves you ' when they get tucked up for the night..!

all the time!!

Yes, I talk to mine all the time...they always listen and always pick out their favourite words in a conversation :) Surannon I know what you mean by imagining their different voices - I sometimes do that too...the borzois are posh but a bit slow and the collies always talk really fast, sort of thing!!

Mine hasn't talked back yet, but he is a great listener

Absolutely, and she talks to me too. Today we've had a great conversation about why she is not allowed on the bed in spare bedroom. :D

I always talk to my dogs, well I do live alone with them :d
I even have a special song for Anton, which very rarely people get to hear, usually only when I'm drunk :d Very funny especially when I'm at work and one of the SWD owners sings it to me down the phone !
You don't have to be mental to own my breed but it does help !

Maybe not the breed for me after all, what with me being perfectly sane and all....... :D :D

Yeah right ShaynLola, I've seen some of your posts :d

Yep talk to mine too. I'm sure they understand sometimes. They tilt their heads and look really interested in everything I say..... and I get more sense out of them than anyone else around here:-)
i talk to mine especially in the car- i say things like- " you okay Flo'ie?", "lie down and be careful, dont get tangled in your harness!"- people must think im talking to myself as Flo's small and cant be seen from outside! but im not talking to myself- Flo's listening to every word- think her reply must be "yeh, whatever mum" she's at a teenage stage, giving me the silent stares!

I always talk tomine - they listen better than the other half. Years ago a neighbour said she had to laugh at the way I talked to my dogs but lo and behold I cought her having a chat to them over the fence.
Sue

I think this thread would never have got off the ground if it had been titled "Who does
not talk to their dogs?" :D
I talk to my two all the time!
And I work in a boarding kennel and alway chat away with the boarders while I'm working! Have been laughed at by customers a few times!
