Hi guys, my parents and I are really in a pickle. My parents and I are going into a joint ownership of a show puppy but unfortunately the bitch had only 2 bitches and the rest dogs. The breeder is a personal friend and one who has helped me immensely over the past couple of years and she is keeping of of the bitches herself. This only leaves one. We have waited a a couple of years for this puppy and I was told  we where second on the list for a bitch but it turns out we're not. Another couple who purchased a puppy of them  years back had their name down before us for a bitch but now they say they may want a dog! I would prefer having the choice of a few pups rather than plumping for the one left and now we have to wait for this couple to make up their mind!! I don't want to lose a friend but I feel a little cheated as she wasn't straight with me so I have made enquiries elsewhere and I have told the breeder this as I don't want my parents to feel like we must have this pup at the end of the day we will have this pup for 14 yrs plus so its important we get it right. We have seen the boy puppys and they are absolutely gorgeous but we already have 3 male dogs at home(all castrated age 20ths, 3.5, 6) and I wouldn't want to rock the boat by adding another one as they get on fantastic! Now my parents say maybe we should consider a dog !!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Ps Admin, this is not an advert.

Hi,
Are you saying you only have males at home? no bitches?  If this is the case you might be better of with another male.  I know several people who only had males who never fought and lived in harmony.  Then they brought a bitch in and that's where the problems started.  The males then had something to get uptight about.
Just something for you to think about.  Plus it'd give you more choice of puppy :)

One other significant factor is Claire they're all castrated so you may not have that problem if you get a girl, just a thouht.

Speak soon Susanxxx
