My bitch is on the first day of heat at the moment, it came a little early, I have a stud lined up but she is due to be wormed next week, should I go ahead and do it early so as not to do it if she succesfully mates and becomes pregnant?

Bitches need to be wormed during pregnancy.

My vet WON'T worm my pregnant girls, I have to worm them just before they come in season, then again after whelping when the pups are around 2 weeks old, at the same time as the pups.

I always worm mine before they are mated. I try never to give them anything in the way of medication when they are in whelp.

My girl had a similar situation the vet gave me panacur sachets to give every day from 40 days till 2 days post whelp. hth

Yep I did the Panacur from day 40 to. Same with previous litters

i worm during pregnancy as my vet advised and ive never had an ill effects

I always worm mine on their first day of season with Drontal Plus & then daily with Panacur from day 42.

I'm sure it will be fine to worm your girl a week early :)
