Wondered what the maximum no. of eggs is that anyone has had their goose sit on successfully? Ours seem to have gone a bit potty this year & one of them is trying to sit 22 eggs!!!!
I rekon it would be better to remove about 10 eggs in the hope she wil sit on the remainder properly rather than half incubating the whole lot & addling them. Anyone else had this problem?....anyone want any goose eggs???  they make lovely sponges

I have never had much joy with geese sitting, they get so far then just clear off nest altogether with about a week to go. If you have someone with a broody hen you could give them some to incubate or stick some in an incubator, those are the only methods I have ever suceeded in hatching geese.

cheers amos, always been ok in previous years & although we have 2 incubators (brinsea type) i canot be faffed to start on all that hassle!   We only want a few birds for friends & family at christmas & incubator is such hard work. Think i will reduce numbers a bit, make a sponge & dream of roast goose!!
