hi everyone, my mum has asked me to post this question . she has a 2 year old yorkie who was castrated 18 months ago. nearly every evening , he gets a cushion and mounts it , to the point where his thingy , is totally "out! & his whole body ripples just as in a tie . she has tried distracting him with play/toys etc , but now coz hes knows she tries to stop him doing it , he waits until she goes to the loo, or to make a cuppa etc. there is also fluid when he ejaculates   her question is " is this normal , ?"  thankyou in advance for all suggestions !!:):)

"Is this normal" - yep. Unusual, but normal. Castration is only guaranteed to removed the ability to sire puppies (after time), not the desire to mate.

well, my mum talked to the vet today about this ( while she was there with Bobby ) & he said it is because its the only way Pepsi  can show dominance , is with the cushion because Bobby, who is 9.5 is the alpha male, so its a "man thing" apparently !! lol :)

Well i bet that dam cushion knows just where it stands in the pecking order now  :rolleyes:

if he was desexed after the point of sexual maturity then its normal and it will never go away i suggest getting him his own teddy which he can hump all day long if he wishes. This is not something you can fix it is an itch he needs to scratch and he will on anyone or anything if you give him his own little thing to hump you can train him that he can do it all he likes to his teddy but not the furniture or any guests.
