Hi,
Wonder is anyone can give me some advice. My girl is either 36 or 39 days pregnant [ well we hope she is] and is getting a clear but smelly discharge. Spoke to my breeder and he seems to think that it is nothing to worry about. could just be pups pushing on her bladder. It is a urine smell.  I am waiting for the vet to phone me back, but any advice would be great.

honestly some say its okay but i like to be 100% sure and would take mine to the vets if any discharge had an odour

I would say get her to the vet, if she has a bit of an infection, best to get it treated now before it gets any worse.  A course of Synulox won't hurt the pregnancy.

When my girls have a clear discharge during pregnancy, there is definitely no smell to it.

Thanks for your replies.  My vet said not to worry that she did not think it was anything to worry about.  She said just to keep an eye on her and if she was sick or she got unwell to get back to her.

maybe get her scanned to see whats going on

I did think about getting her scanned but the amount of stories I have heared about scanning not being acurate I think I will just let nature take its course.  My breader was telling me about a woman who got her dog scanned and was told that her dog was not pregnant and low and behold 2 weeks later 8 pups were born. 

Ellie my dog is okay today no discharge and no smell.  She is eating great and is happy in herself.
