I guys I just want to book a hotel early for next year, anyone know which is the closeST and best hotel next to the NEC?? Thanks, Clare

Last year we stayed at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, just next to the lake, on Pendigo Way which is about 10 min walk from the NEC, it was a lovely hotel, but not that cheap, even booking so far in advance :)

what are the dates for next year ?

Crufts 2007 Times and Dates:

Thursday 8th March       Gundog
Friday 9th March           Working and Pastoral
Saturday 10th March     Terrier and Hound
Sunday   11th March      Toy and Utility

They don't normally allow dogs.  Do they allow dogs for the Crufts Weekend?  I had planned to book there this year, but when the website didn't say pets allowed I didn't bother.  Hmmm if they do I suspect that's where we'll be staying next year.

WE STAYED AT THE IBIS SOUTH COVENTRY (20 MINS FROM NEC) VERY COMFY AND OUR WELL BEHAVED DOG WAS ALLOWED IN THE RESTAURANT WITH US AT DINNER TIME!

I've stayed the last 2 years at the Express by Holiday Inn on the NEC property and have been very pleased with it.  We've gone up the night before showing, and stayed till the day after showing which makes it sooo much less stressful plus no queue waiting to get off the property.  Once we got out of the parking lot and past the first island it was 5 minutes to the hotel on the night we finished showing.  I always book in April or May

Yep we stayed here as well like you for the 2 nights, it was very good.  We liked the fact it was very relaxed and there was lots of fellow dog owners there.  We booked August but we're told then that there were only a few rooms left.
We've tried to book for next year now but they only allow you to book 50 weeks in advance apparently.

Claire your to organised, i need to take a leaf out of your book and then i wouldn't miss them

I didn't get any shopping done this yearSo next year I want to have an extra day before we show on the sat to shop till I drop plus it will give his lordship time to rest himself!

Hi Clare - have you found any where yet?  I am in the same situation - I will have 2/3 dogs with me and I would like to book now so I don't miss the boat next year - let me know how you have go on

I can't believe it i've just tried booking the Holiday Inn Express NEC for 9 - 11 March 2007 and it's booked!!!  The only one i could find right near the NEC was the Crowne Plaza and thats way to expensive :-(

Just wanted to add as well i've tried booking it since Crufts just gone and kept being told you can only book up to 50 weeks in advance, how unlucky can i be :-(

i've just booked at the express holiday inn at the nec - it was showing quite a few rooms available so i would try it again.

I've done it :-)  The reason why apparently it was showing that it was booked was because there was a problem with the room rates appearing on the site, i rang them direct instead.
Now to start saving :-)
