I've got a friend's friend's Briard coming to my college to be groomed next week. I've looked in my book at how to groom him, but she's now considering showing him, and I want to make sure I don't do something the equivalent of clipping a show Westie to him - does anyone know the show trim of a Briard please?

hi there to groom a briard you don't trim at all only round the feet where the coat has grown long don't touch the body coat just groom it down in the way it hangs . not forgetin the parting down the backbone.
if you need anymore info just e-mail me. as i own briards.just pm me and i will give you my e-mail address

Great thanks - just make nice big round feet then? Nothing trimmed on the head? That should be easy to make up for the time spent combing all his knots out!! :-)

Hi Brac, great to have another briard owner on the board.  Do you show your briard - what is his/her kennel name?

LucyD - spotted you are in London - might bring my girl to you one day when my back can't take the grooming any more ;).  Hope your friends dog hasn't a coat like my Saffy or you might have a full days work for you there!  Definitely no trimming anywhere but the feet.
