Can some tell me the amount of food for a 10kg dog please

Also does anyone who show their dogs use this ?   I have tried to get my dogs on all sorts of dry food in the past but Chappie is the only one they will eat and enjoy !!  I use it for my older dogs but not sure if its suffiecent for the younger ones, although I think it's better than what they are eating now which is almost nothing !

On a thread a little while ago it seemed people were mostly feeding a tin daily, in either one or two meals, for each 12/13kgs of dog but as I'm sure you know all dogs vary so you would need to monitor how they were getting on with it.  I didn't do breed shows with my Dandie on it because she wasn't suitable but her condition was great, she never lost a dog with the waggiest tail class and competed well in the fun terrier races :)

Thanks Isabel but I meant the dry food not the tinned,  good to hear your Dandie was in good condition !

I've found the feeding guide on the bag to be pretty accurate. I used to feed this when I was showing my dogs, and they always did pretty well, at open and champ shows. :)

Ooops silly me you did say dried but I thought you meant but were having to do something else but when I read it again you didn't did you :o
Yes, my dear old Dandie lived to over 15 although she was only on Chappie tins in her youth before moving her successfully onto Beta because I got fed up of the smell  so don't blame you trying the dry ;).  I'm sure someone will be along to advise about the dry although the ones I am thinking of all have larger dogs than this so it may be a case of just trying them with what looks right and observing how they go on.

Thanks :)

I keep my Chappie in a huge tub and have thrown the bag away so not sure on the feeding guide,  the dogs I already have on it have a handful or two per meal,  very accurate LOL

I must admit I used to use a mug - a level mug for the middle-sized one, a bit less for the smaller one, and a heaped mug each for the biggest two! :o

I doesn't really matter as long as their overall condition is right.  I don't suppose many people eat exactly the same calories everyday or do the exact same amount of exercise :)

Hy Lydia,

I cant help you with the feeding amounts either, but i am guessing probably around 1-1/1/2 cups per day??.Just wanted to say that the feeding amounts on the back of the bag are just guidelines, some dogs need alot less, some alot more.Go by your dogs bodyweight, lean but not skinny, and condition, small firm poops, shiny coat, lots of energy etc etc.
