Try the breeder of each dog, he /she should have them.
Jim
hi this is going to sound really stupid but how do i find out who owns all the dogs ? i have his pedigree with all the names on it but i dont know who owns all of the help
Hi there do you mean when you are filling out his reg for IKC ,the reg numbers should appear on his pedigree under names of dogs.Dont worry about going back to many generations put in what you can

I havent filled out my form yet, but I havent got any numbers on my pedigree, other than those of his parents

That may have sounded wrong. i meant it to say, try the person that bred the dogs which you are trying to register in Ireland. Or try the English kennel club.If you can say what breed you have then someone may be able to come up with some info from their own pedigrees, old show catalogues etc.
Jim

Phone the KC, explain what you're doing and ask if they can help - I find them very helpful indeed.

I've never had anything to do with the Irish Kennel Club, do you really have to have the registration numbers of every dog on the pedigree?

I find that incredible, surely the KC registration number of your own dog would suffice. I could very well be wrong, but it just sounds OTT.
Dawn R.
No you don't have to have the registration numbers of every dog on the pedigree just the dog you are registering. You will need to know all the names of the sire, dam, grandparents, greatgrandparents etc and you will have to supply them with your dogs KC registration certificate(they will post it back to you). It would be a good idea to get a copy of your dogs 5 generation certificate as all the dogs names will be on this. You can order them of the KC website or sit down and go through the names with your breeder if you can as you have to fill all the names on the IKC registration form.
hi yes i have the form in front of me and you put the names of the dogs (back 3 generations ) and there reg numbers underneath , lynn (ferdhu ) has filled lilys in and she has verified it you do need all the numbers ill ring the kc today dawn
Just your dog and her parents will do, that's all I did previously and had no problems registering my dogs. Reminds me I'd better get registering now if I want to do the circuit this year :d
hi thanks ive been in touch with the owner of brocks dad and she has given me all his side i just need now brocks mums mums side ive done the rest so do you think just his mums and her dads side will be enough ? cheers
You don't need their reg numbers, I have filled in the form just 2 mths ago and I filled in the names of the dogs and sent his KC reg form.
o.k ill give it a go did they not say anything ? im so glad its murder trying to get all the numbers cheers dawn

Just a little tip.I live in Ireland and bought a dog in Wales and put it in joint ownership(wife & me) with the english kennel club.I was already a member of the IKC.
When i sent off the registration papers to the IKC, i waited 8 weeks and then got a letter back saying that she couldn't be registered because my wife was not a member.I had to make my wife a member and then register my dog.
You will need to become a member first, and any joint owners if applicable. Then you can register your dogs.
I just thought this might help if there are more than one owner.

You cannot register a dog with the IKC unless you are a member, that's just the way they do it here. Also this may not apply but i'll mention it anyway. From January 1st this year, all pups have to be microchipped before they can be registered with the IKC.I'm not sure if this applies to older dogs, but it's worth asking before you apply.
Jimbob.
I'm UK based and didn't have to be a member to get my dog IKC registered.
I thought you were only allowed to be a member of the IKC if you were resident in Eire.

Apologies, maybe they have different rules for non residents. It would be best to ring them for clarification on a few things.
if you need all pedigree numbers cathaljay database holds all pedigree numbers for bullmastiffs you just need to put your dogs name in (Brocks)/others.
susan ive tried that the numbers dont come up just the names

You don't need any numbers and don't need to be a member just send the pink form off (OS 1) with the sire/dams reg numbers as thats all i had on our girls papers and send it off, our girl is now IKC reg about 7weeks ago it all came back through.
Good luck. :)
thanks ill post it tomorrow
Hi Claire

how are you doing?
Luv Sue
Hey Susan yeah, I'm ok, bad news about the pups, she had 7 boys and 2 girls!

They boys are absolutely stunning, really well marked and I believe their heads are gorgeous, but the girls are nice just not the same quality as the boys. Just my luck!!!! She had one white girl with a black ear and one red and white girl. They are keeping the white girl. I'm kind of in limbo land again! Hows you???
ps Admin, this is not an advert.
I've also registered dogs in Ireland and didn't have to be a member :d
