i am looking to get a tow bar fitted on my van the question i need to ask is can i buy my own tow bar and take it to some where that fits it or do they want to fit there own etc, and can any one reccomend a tow bar fitter in the hartlepool area please thanks in advance

I got my tow bar from towsure and a friend fitted it for me :)

If its a new van / car make sure that your warranty will still be ok if you fit a tow bar.
Best to read the very small print as this has happend to a few Caravan Club members .
Check Yellow pages for a tow hitch fitting garage.under towing /trailers
Having had Caravans & Trailers for 25yrs I have found it pays to let the pros do the job and have a fitting warranty
Also check with your ins company and check your Driving Licence as there have been changes in the law on who can tow.

My insurance went up by £40 per year - apparantly its a modification

this is the funny thing though before i decided on the van i started to phone insurance companies this company quoted me 879.57 fully comp then when i said no i have a quote of 405.60 they knocked there quote down to 333.78 fully comp so i said yes, so will now phone them up and tell them about the tow bar.
