here This isn't a debate about rights and wrongs but just wondered if you think that if it was passed as it stands in the above link would already docked dogs be included in the ban on being shown.

It says:

> (7)   A person commits an offence if
>(a)  he shows a dog at an event to which members of the public are admitted on payment of a fee,
>(b)  the dog's tail has been wholly or partly removed (in England and Wales or elsewhere), and
>(c)  removal took place on or after the commencement day.

It seems that dogs docked prior to the day the bill comes into force could still be shown - just not those docked after that date.

I very much doubt that any ban could include dogs born and docked prior to such a ban comming into force. My guess is that there will be a date, as a cut off point, if you will pardon the pun. Dogs born, and docked at <3 days of age, before the date will surely not be affected by a ban.

I dont have a docked breed but was talking with someone that does and the e-mail they were sent didnt make this clear so said I would open it for debate :D As JG has pointed out it will only apply to dogs that are docked after the amendment is passed  (if it is) so not as my friend was led to believe. Was just thinking about it along the same lines as ear cropped dogs not being allowed to be shown in this country and once it was passed (again if it is)would have been a little late to fight it.
