I was perplexed when I ordered my Arden Grange from the website today...AG have changed the names and the packaging of their products and they have also added extra ingredients...
I found it even more confusing because my BCs are now 12 months old so I thought I'd order the Adult Arden Grange and gradually change them over during the next couple of weeks...
I thought it would be simple but when I logged on...AG has improved the Dog range...
The Arden Grange and the Classic have been combined and they are now all called Arden Grange...
Cranberry extract, Yucca extract, Prebiotics - FOS & MOS and Nucleotides have all been added....
I've studied the products carefully and eventually decided to order the AG Premium...
Ingredients:
Fresh Chicken (min 19%), Chicken Meal* (min 19%), Whole Grain Rice, Whole Grain Maize, Chicken Fat*, Beet Pulp, Egg Powder, Fish Meal*, Dried Brewers Yeast, Linseed, Fish Oil*, Minerals, Vitamins, Nucleotides, Prebiotic FOS, Prebiotic MOS, Cranberry Extract, Chondroitin Sulphate, Glucosamine Sulphate, MSM, Yucca Extract. * Preserved with mixed tocopherols and rosemary extract.
Hopefully this will be the quality equivalent of the now defunct Graduate that we've been feeding up until now...
I'm a bit worried by the additions because my young dog has quite a sensitive tummy and if he eats anything new it invariably gives him the runs... :(
Has anyone tried the new look product yet? Do(es) your dog(s) like it? Or more importantly...Does it like your dog(s)?

Those additives are all ones designed to be helpful be better for digestion, and kidnesy and joints.
I noticed that they ahd changed things when I got a leaflet with my Crufts bumpf.
Not sure if I've had the new one yet but the dogs haven't gone off it!!

I didn't know they had changed the ingredients since they changed the packaging etc - suppose I should have checked, but my cats, who've loved it have both gone off it since the new bags, and I haven't got an old bag now to compare the ingredients. My dog still loves it though.

Well the new Arden Grange Premium has arrived and I'm gradually introducing it into the dogs diet. So far no problems and thankfully they both continue to enjoy their food. Strange thing is that Arden Grange delivered Lamb & Rice by mistake and have permitted us to keep the wrong order as well as delivering the Premium...
Both dogs absolutely love the lamb & rice...It's a cheaper product than the Premium and I'm almost tempted to change the dogs over to it, especially as they appear to enjoy it more than the Chicken & Rice Premium...
Still even if I continue to feed the Premium 30kgs of lamb & rice rewards will save me a fortune in tasty rewards for training and good behaviour!

They probably seemed to like it better because it was different to the same old flavour you usually give :) Why dont you rotate between the lamb and the chicken?.I am a great believer in variety, even if its within the same line.No one food can contain everything a dog needs,by rotating your ensuring they arent missing out on anything or getting too much of another. Not to mention the boredom factor of getting the same food served up each and everyday, change is good ;)

>No one food can contain everything a dog needs
Of course it can, my terrier ate the same one for the last 11 years, or so, of her 16 allotted ones :)
I've fed Arden Grange exclusively for the last 9 years!

I do sometimes wish dog food people wouldn't change their food. i suppose I have to accept it is usually for the better, but when Eukanuba changed theirs my old boy (sadly now no longer with us) would suffer with colitus if fed anything different to their adult or premium range. He didnt like the lamb and rice. I didnt know it had changed till I opened a new bag and within 3 days the old problem slowly came back. Little symptoms at first, then wow back again. A friend said to check the bag as she thought they were adding wheat, and yep, they were. i rang to find out why, as they had always said their food didnt contain cheap fillers, or anything to cause problems, and was told there were different types of wheat, the wheat they used was good quality but if my dog was having problems try the lamb and rice. Good advice if he would eat it. So i had him on boiled rice and chicken with his anti biotics to get him well again, and tried him with arden grange classic chicken and rice. he managed the food with a careful transition period, and never looked back.
Does anyone know if the ingrediants have changed in the puppy/junior?
Have ordered it early just incase so I can introduce it gradually with the classic junior dog.
We changed from a 'not so popular' brand a while back and have found arden grange to be fantastic, my pooch is absolutely thriving on it - I hope they don't change it too much
