i just saw! amazing!!!!
is that the first elkie to win the group at crufts?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 11.03.06 18:36 UTC Edited 11.03.06 18:41 UTC
Nope a few years ago (2000?) his grandmother Ch Kestos Quickstep won the group, and two years before that Ch Barlestone Crystal (both by the late Ch Anton Av Eskamere) and before that in the late 70's/early 80's ch Kestos Adheryn won.

This may be the first male Elkhound to have won the Group?

- By archer [gb] Date 10.03.06 21:11 UTC
No...his grandma won the group too!!!This is the 3rd elkie bred by his breeder to win the group at Crufts. There have now been a total of 4 elkie hound group winners.
He belongs to the middletons...

And wasn't he a fabulous mover? Robin picked my top two, loved the Petit as well, but would definitely have had the Elkhound top.

He seems a really down to earth sort of man and so obviously loves his dog well done to them both he,s my winner so far.
- By Dill [gb] Date 11.03.06 15:32 UTC
Well done - he looked so dazed on tv :D :D
- By LucyD [gb] Date 11.03.06 18:57 UTC
I agree Bowers - 'what is an Elkhound bred for' - you could just hear his handler thinking 'what an idiot'!!!
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 11.03.06 22:02 UTC
Oooh and a Pomeranian won too today !  He actually looked nicer on the tele than up close!  But he was still a nice dog and seemed to sparkle more in the group ring than the breed ring.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 11.03.06 22:06 UTC
Was he really called No-name?
- By archer [gb] Date 11.03.06 22:20 UTC
I got the idea the dog HAD no name...not a pet then!!!

The Pom is called Noname as the owner has explained on Crufts fm this morning thats what the breeders told them was his name when they picked him up  :D LOL
- By Brainless [gb] Date 11.03.06 22:05 UTC
As a Bedwarmer if you ask Jozi who is led upside down on the sofa snoring her head off :D
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 12.03.06 11:27 UTC
I think that it was more that the man showing him didn't understand English!  He struggled on the interview and also at first didn't realise that he'd won his class on the breed competition :d :d

Maybe his name is too long and too difficult to say in English ???
- By Lea Date 13.03.06 19:18 UTC
Ok come on can Someone PLEASE put me out of my misery............
Is his name spelt KRis as on here or
CHRis as on the BBC at least 2 days in a row.
Which is it????????
(I know which i am putting my money on but thought i would check!!! LOL)
Lea :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 13.03.06 20:05 UTC
Well I am pretty sure that his Mum spells it Kris :D
