I got up early this morning to clean up and tidy the house I left a list of things for OH to do because someone was coming to view our house at 7pm this evening. We delayed dinner kept watch so that we could make sure dogs were safe when they arrived, and guess what? They didn't turn up.!!! It is so maddening. We have had our house on the market for 6 months, and it is beginning to feel like it is never going to sell. Trouble is I have now found somewhere I really like so it is even more frustrating when prospective buyers don't turn up.

We have been on the market for 6 months as well and I am so peed off with it all :rolleyes:

It takes so much effort keeping the house tidy and then at the drop of a hat getting it 'show house tidy' take a lot of hard work

Make my blood boil as well as we think our house is very well priced. (research done on Sq Mtr plus what the house has to offer eg ensuites , open plan living space, standard of the maintenance as in zero ;) )

We went to see a property that had potential.It turned out to be a right sh*thole. I rang the agents and told them that the price was a joke :rolleyes: He asked me what I thought was a resonable price. I told him at least 40K under the price as to get it up to to the standard of our house as it was the same price as ours

I am sick of it as it is very stressful and think people are so fickle :rolleyes:

When I sold my house I had a nightmare. I had a lovely front garden and as they were hammering the For Sale sign to the fence Willis was digging up the garden furiously. By the time I dragged him in he had reduced the lawn to mud and scattered bits of tree all over the drive. The only person who wanted it was a lady who had 2 labs :D :D :D

We have also found that estate agents are also full of c**p. Full of empty promises. Mine promised a curtesy call once a fortnight. They only ever call to arrange a viewing and I am sure they havent a clue who I am. I have just instructed another agent but I have no confidence in any of them really

I had my house on the market last year and on a few occasions people didn't turn up to view. If I couldn't view a property I always gave at least a few hours notice.

I took my house off the market as Tilly was expecting pups and didn't want her upset by strangers. I am in no rush to put it back on the market as I really can't do with the hassle !

We sold our house first week in Jan after being on the market for 11 weeks.........hated veiwings We had 10 asians come in on one veiwing - didn't speak a word in English to me, helped themselves around the house, didn't wait to be shown around, then had the cheek to tell estate agents that they would pay full asking price if we left everything!!! Sofa's, Tv's, Pc's, beds THE LOT!!!I was so relieved to sell but that's were the stress really begins We are nearly readt to complete now and I can't wait to settle in the new house...........good luck with yours and hope that you get a buyer soon.

Do you think that having dogs puts buyers off?  I saw a property programme once that said it most definitely does. We intend to sell within next couple of years and I am going to get decorators to give it a lick of paint inside and out and make sure it is dog free zone for at least to begin with (don't know how I will do that yet though :rolleyes:)

My OH said we would never sell our last house because of all the jobs that still needing doing.  Put it on the market and was sold to the first people who viewed it.  Think they were mad but I suppose we were very lucky.  He is now saying the same about this one but I am going to keep positive vibes and will refuse to get stressed. 

I hated the viewings, even though sold to first people who viewed it they didn't put in offer for a week so had a week of people traipsing around and it was hard keeping place tidy with 3 kids.  I complained about one woman who was late for the appointment and then just breezed around the house in about 30 seconds.  The estate agents took a dim view of her and said they took her off their mailing list.  Whether or not they did I don't know.

we are trying to sell ours too,we have seven Mastiffs all live in,so its fun and games with cleaning and keeping them out of the way for viewings,but we have the added extra of our garden has planning for another house,so we have builders coming who don't care what condition,state this house is in,as it will all be totally gutted and redone anyway and then theres the house buyers who want everything perfect,we have found a great place we want,total wreck,no kitchen,no pipework,heating,nothing,so will have to buy two static vans to live in for a while if we get it,but it does have what we really want and thats six acres of land for the dogs,we have just made an offer so this had better sell soon,hahahaha

Good luck to all sellers!! When we were veiwing properties, one we went to really did smell awful of dog and the garden off wee, it hit you as the back door opened Must admit that it did put me off a bit, but then again the whole house was minging - advacado bathroom suite and all:rolleyes: We had one set of veiwers come here and I had 15 mins notice as they were sat outside in the car and rang estate agent on the off chance of being able to come in and have a look around - I ran around like a lunatic making beds, cleaning bathroom, kitchen ect then walked into the lounge as the doorbell rang and Harvey had done a nice fresh poo right in the middle of the room(he was only 12 weeks old bless him) I picked it up quickly, wiped the floor over with dettox, sprayed air freshner but they must have been able to smell it and they probably saw it as they walked passed the window:rolleyes:..........need I say that they didn't buy LOL!

lol @ asians asking to buy everything.  I had a chinese man come in who wanted everything including the dog   I have a staffy and he then said if he couldn't have my dog could i find him a westie.  My answer was NO!  I also had a couple come in and the female looked round the house with me and the man raked through my CD collection passing comment on my taste in music.

LOL! Some people are unbelievable are'nt they!

To add insult to injury I got a message on my answer machine today giving feedback from the people that viewed last night!!!! Apparently it isn't the right location for them. I rang the estate agents to tell them that they didn't even turn up and the agents were amazed. She said she had actually spoken to the people today and they had given her feedback as if they had viewed and hadn't said anything about not turning up Some people.

They might have done a drive by without coming in. I do this when looking at property but always BEFORE making an appointment to view. I wish more people would do the same. The whole house buying and selling process has to be the worst thing you have to do. I wish you all the best and hope you find a decent buyer soon. Spring should improve the market.
