Please can someone can help...
I have got a 18mth old Choc Lab Dog and a 7mth old Black Lab Bitch and she is causing us real hassle. She keeps snapping at other dogs when they come over to investigate, mostly this happens when she is on the lead but does occasionally happen when she is off the lead. She has had as much socialiation as my boy and he is so soft with other dogs. He is from show stock and she is from field trial, she hasn't been nuetered yet as she only finished her first season a month ago.
I feel like I'm walking on egg shells when we are out, also she seems to crave attention at home all the time and when you don't give it she sits with her ears back almost like she is scared but we have never given her a reason to be scared in any way.
I hope someone out there is able to help.

Hello :)
Just a thought and I could be wrong but could she be having a phantom pregnancy? I say that because my normally extremely friendly and well-socialised bitch has recently been a bit barky and nervous around other dogs (especially on lead) and she is definitely having a mild phantom - her boobs are a bit swollen and she is a bit whimpery and diggy when settling in her bed. Her season finished a couple of months ago and her behaviour changed over the last few weeks.
May be worth asking your vet to check her out? :)

How do your two dogs react without you there ?

Who else is in your family and what input do they have withyour dogs ?

Hi,

There is only my husband and I live in the house, I am just starting to allow Lollie (7mth old) out of her crate when we are out, they play but don't howl or do any damage whilst we are out.

I'd get her checked out by the vet to start, because there are medical problems that can cause behaviour problems. Recently on here a dog was found to have hypothyroid  problems which probably were causing her aggression. Health problems are not always obvious :)
