hello,
This lady has a litter of ckc they where born on the 20th nov, i'm waiting for some pics to be sent by email she has wrote to me saying the size 11inches from floor to wither/shoulder and measure 14inches from neck to tail is this a bit big for the age?

TBH height doesn't mean much as some puppies shoot up before they are 6 months & other grow slowly upwards

The size of the parents is more of a guide

BTW there is no height guidelines in the Cavalier standard just the ideal weight range of 11-18 lbs for both sexes as an adult !

thankyou moonmaiden i will remember that, but the pictures don't look good to me, the dogs look too scared.

If the dogs don't look happy walk away Cavaliers are very photogenic & should be happy especially if they are 12 weeks plus Wonder why they are not sold ?

What's she said about hearts, eyes and syringo? Might tell you a bit more of what she's like as a breeder?

have you actually gone to see them yet because maybe the flash on the camera scared them. I would go and see the litter and see their behavour.

well when i talked to her she said that they both had blen spots and where well marked, but on the pic nither of them have blen spots and the one looks heavly marked, on the pictures they have their tails between their legs and they backs are arched, and heads down they don't look like they have been handled and she got the markings wrong, the ones head looked a bit rounded on top too, i'm not go and see them as they say a picture paints athousand words, I have found a good breeder who shows, has tests done who is due a litter in 3weeks so i'm going to wait, i've had enough of talking to idots, and getting disapointed because they don't know what they are on about! I thought by getting them off the KC website that they would be reputal but I was wrong.  I will only go through the society and be very careful!!

You're not the first person to think that! :)  In fact anyone who registers their pups and pays their money can go on The Kennel Club list and so it's no recommendation at all.

Hi

Just to add the minute i point the camera at my dogs they stop being happy and playfull and look like some dog home specials. As you say humped back and tail between legs. So maybe a photo isnt a good indication. I would however go with your instincs and if you have found another breeder you feel happier with go with them. You may have to wait longer but it will work out better in the long run
