I was just wondering as anyone here had new born pups of big weights. My dog of medium breed size had 1 pup weighing 1.7lb. The rest of the litter were also all good weights. 2 weighing 1.3lb and 2 weighing 1.4lb.

Yes I had heavy pups in my last liter.  Interestingly the 1 1/2 pound pup didn't stay the largest, and by 8 weeks they were the usual range of sizes I have come to expect.

My friends Spanish Water Dog had some very heavy pups last year, wouldn't mind but she's one of the smallest bitches in the breed in the UK.  She had them no problem!

Yes my girls last litter all the males were huge when they where born and the girls were normal size for the breed but then the girls grew quickly and the males grew slowly.

They ended up with the boys a little bigger then the girls when they went to their new homes but the males in my breed are always bigger.

He was a neapolitan mastiff. The vet said he was the biggest pup she had ever seen!!!
