1. The American Cocker has a tail so that gives you a clue ................
2. The Spaniel is spelt spanial....................
The other 2 are awful too! If you want to learn what these breeds
should look like, either look on the breed club websites or go to club shows or Championship Shows, look at good examples and correct trims.
As I said before on another thread, anyone can post anything on the internet!

It's important to sort the wheat from the chaff!
hey, there is nothing wrong with yanks having tails!! my bitch has a tail, and as i dont show her it doesnt bother me, i quite like it. however, she doesnt have her hair left on it like in that photo, if anyone saw the yank that had a tail at crufts last year on the t.v that the presenters commented on, she has it like that... no hair

The Yankie BOB at Crufts didn't look anything like the dog on the link!! :)
I'm glad that you're happy with your dog.

Interesting because I see the trims as
completely different!!!!!
:) Fair enough, but the OP was referring to the fact that yankees aren't meant to "be left like that"- in my opinion, it's not the best trim in the world, but it's a resemblence of how they should look-at least its not a completely different breed.. :)

I would agree with that!
The yankee looks pretty normal to me
But I couldn't agree with that!! :D
What don't you agree with in the photo? Aside from the dodgy trim?

The dodgy trim IS the difference!
If the owners had trimmed their dogs themselves like that to keep them comfortable, then I'd say good on them and well done. If they'd paid good money for their dogs to be trimmed like that, then I'd be horrified!!
So aside from the cut, the rest of the dog looks normal? Thats what I'm getting at. :) My yankee's just been completely clipped - not through choice - and he looks funny but you can still tell he's a yankee.. ;)

Goodness, how awful! What was the problem???

i see the trims diffrently the kennel club one has been sripped and that one has been clipped and has not even been blended in.

Im not a groomer but even i can see that that American Cocker looks AWFUL - the skirt is supposed to be blended into the body hair, and i would presume that effect comes best with stripping, although i suspect a similar effect can be got with clippers, whoever shaved that poor dog..they've left it looking like a half shaved sheep!

Well I have friends with working Cockers who would be mortified if their dogs looked that 'spanial'. You can see the ears will be wrong as are the head & muzzle shape. If it's not pure WS or BC, it's crossed with them.
*sigh* As I said, my working cocker looks pretty similar to the dog in the photo, aside from having a longer muzzle. He is a pure working cocker and neither am I "mortified" that he looks like that..

I was referring to my friends having/breeding Cockers like that *Big Sigh*

The poodle is a Miniature Poodle (not a Standard as it states) in the 'pet clip' and the last one is def a Fox Terrier not an Airdale (it just has quite fluffy looking fur - musta been castrated ;) hehe) :D

that is so not a foxie its so big if its not an airdale its a welsh

Yes it deffiantly deffinatly not a wire fox! It looks like an airdale or possible a welsh, its deffinaltly one of the two. Im pretty certain its an airdale but not a very good one lol
