Hi All please advise me ...can I spectate at a field trial or because of the guns do I have to be invited, if so who is the best person to ontact, I am in a club but got no info on it only found out in the mag. with results. I will ask at the AGM but in the meantime any info would be great....if anyone knows John who they ask him for me Sonja
In the majority of cases you will be welcome to spectate at field trials, however you should phone the field trial secretary a couple of days before to make sure. They will be able to give you precise directions to the trial (as they are usually only sent to those who get a run in the trial). An offer of help to the FT Secretary is almost always welcome, and if you can get yourself a job stewarding for the judges or carrying shot game you will get a much better view of the dogs working.
Thanks Havoc It just seems really illusive and I feel so frustrated and p...d off because I train so hard and watch the videos etc and although I know I am far away from ready for a trial I soooo want to be there just watching and enjoying everything and if I could do something ..anything within the trial it would make my day When I se the pictures in the Mag I could cry because I know I could easily be at the trails (I'm in NI), Regards Sonja
Well, Sonja, now's the time to offer your services with your local club - there are working tests coming up, and the more hands the easier for the organisers. Then when the field trial season starts, they will know who to call on to help.
