My dog teases my bitch, she loves her toys and my dog always takes everything off of her, he doesnt really want it he just seems to enjoy taking things off of her. He very gently pulls her toy out of her mouth even though she is growling at him he still very gently takes it. As soon as he has it he drops it then it starts all over again. He is like an annoying little brother.
Occasionally she growls and he knows she means it this time and he backs off.
I stop him sometimes by holding on to his collar but there must be a better way, I have tried telling him off and but it seems to go in one ear and out the other.

What would you do in this situation all replies welcome.

My old dog Sadie ( the top dog) used to do this to the younger dog Moss, she used to put them under her paws so he could see them, but he wouldn't dare get them off her & if they had squeekers she would rip them out! really mean! Moss would look gutted. Can't say it really got any better it was just her way of her showing him who was boss.

One of mine teases his brother like this - Harry's the only one who loves toys (although his mum used to like to destroy raggers in her youth) and if Piglet's feeling bored he winds Harry up by taking a toy and prancing around with it and not letting him get it. As you say - an annoying brother! :)

Mind you, their mum wouldn't allow her first litter any toys. If I put toys in the pen with them, she'd jump in and remove them all! It must be a family thing!

i was reading this and watching my two dogs doing the same thing which made me laugh .
max aka fatboy love to plat with anything ,  be it a toy , a pair of socks you name it he will play with it , and tess with just walk over take it from him walk away drop it and just sit and wait for him to go back and TRY  and get it again  and the same thing will go on all day
she is gentle with him and its seems a game between them , max can growl , bark even nip but she just puts her paw on him and takes wot ever he has off him lol

Hi Tricolours,

My two do this all the time.  Miss Thing loves playing 'tug' but everytime we get a game started, up rolls Zak who does exactly what yours does - takes the tuggy and then drops it.  TBH  he's a pretty clueless dog (doesn't get the point of toys at all) but seems to have the impression he's helping me win.  She will do what your bitch does, tolerate it for a bit and then tell him to push off.  As long as it doesn't get nasty I wouldn't worry - just see it as part of family life ('Muuum! He's doing it again - tell him!')

Regards, Linda
