We have 4 dogs and all seem to have their little problems.......;)

Lola, rescue Ridgeback, agressive towards dogs when out, perfect at home.
Freya, Weimaraner we have had since a pup, barks at anything and everything, good out and at home (apart from the barking!)
Casper, rescue Weimaraner, undersocialised, scared of everything, insecure. Constant attention seeking behavour when at home, great out and about (after a lot of hard work)
Elsa, Great Dane, only 13 weeks and so far, so good...........

All our babies 'problems' are being worked on, but is there light at the end of the tunnel.............

Definitely there is :D  Sounds like you've got your hands full, very well done on taking on your rescues and working through their problems. I have 4 dogs too and 1 is perfect in every way - so that's a 25% success rate - your dane could be yours?? :D

Toto, 5 year old borzoi who is actually a sweetie but insists on catching and eating small animals when out for a walk - for obvious reasons he's exercised where he can't meet cats or small dogs

Tchi, 5 year old borzoi, I love him to bits but no one else would, he's a beastly boy - hates everybody and everything he meets outside, is manageable after lots and lots of training.

Meg, 3 year old border collie - PERFECT in every way, does everything you want before you want it, loves everybody and everything, perfectly well behaved in all situations  :)

Gem, 7 month border collie (daughter of Meg), super hyper active cheeky pup drives me round the bend!

Yes. In my eyes, Willis & Phoebe are the perfect danes. I don't care that other folk might think their chewing, attention seeking, fighting, tug of war games with the rug that all my furniture once sat on, jumping up and flattening me, grabbing my arms and running off with me, and insisting on licking baby Archie from head to toe are somewhat less than perfect but I don't care :D :D :D

Yes I had the perfect dog unfortunately she died three years ago however the two I have now more than make up for her, especially the young one she really likes the sound of her own voice and can be hard work with other dogs but we are getting there I keep reminding myself she was invited to live with me and didn,t ask to come.
I ,m sure every dog has its moments but yes there is light at the end of the tunnel some tunnels are just that bit longer and darker than others

My husband had what he calls 'his first perfect moment' with all the dogs last night - the fire was on, all the dogs were asleep infront of it, he was strumming his guitar and I was reading.  He says that he can cope with the noise, the mess, the being sat on by 8 stone dogs for one of those moments every now and again.   I did warn him that to get all the dogs settled on the floor and quiet all at once might be a once in a lifetime event though :D

My dogs abide by 'The Dog Property Law' which states:

Yep mine are perfect for me.  Get on with everyone and everything, and their recalls are good (if slow at times )

Now my kids may disagree, as they hate the hair that gets on everything, and the fact that when I am not there they alert at every noise after dark.

I think Ciara is pretty perfect - she has a few little quirks but they make her perfect to me.  I think the perfect dog is a bit like beauty; in the eye of the beholder.  She loves pretty much everybody, is very well behaved, makes me laugh all the time, is very obedient 95% of the time - she's only 11 months old so she can get away with the other 5% :-)  Likes the odd cuddle and generally great to have around.  Oh and oh so cute! :-)

mine is perfect 99% of the time, if he was perfect all the time i would have to think about getting another one to renew the challenge!

After nearly two years of hell with a puppy he is now the perfect little gentleman and I wouldn't change him for anything
Yes, he has his little quirks but I think that it is just his character and how he is.

Also, how stupid am I??? I have worked this hard and I have reached my goal of tranquility so we are getting a new pup soon AM I MAD!!!!

No - but there is "the perfect dog" for each individual owner :D  We all have our ideas of what "the perfect dog" is don't we :)  Our Shelties (previous and current), although very different to each other have all been "the perfect dog" for us   Our idea of "the perfect dog" is one that we love as much as they do us, suits our activity level, is the "right size" for us, has a "good personality" (again for us) etc etc.  We don't expect/want our dog(s) to be immaculately trained (if we did we'd put huge amounts of effort into training rather than the few minutes a day that we do!) as our dogs are nothing more than family pets (which of course is our idea of what a family pet is) :)

My Henry's perfect - just wish 2 more Champ judges would agree! :-D
