I need to send some nice flowers to a friend who has had a really bad time of late. I once used Interflora who were horrendously expensive & the flowers very very pathetic & poor, so I wondered if anyone can recommend an internet type service for sending really nice flowers where you know they wil arrive in good condition & showing a lovely display as opposed to sad wilted & overpriced!!

Is there anyone that lives near the recipient that you could ask about good local florists, then you could just ring them up directly and place an order? They just about all do deliveries locally.

I always use Next and have found them to be excellent. The flowers are very fresh and last for ages :)

Hello Sam sometimes it is an idea to do it direct with a florist you know or one near to the person the flowers are for because you are speaking direct to them you can get and idea of what is available and the cost which is less than the big organisations. My daughter has also received flowers from Next and I was impressed. Joany

I have found either Next or John Lewis to be the best.

what about m/s on they web site i did the fruit basket for my mum/dad for christmas,

Interflora use the local florist (I worked for the head office actually doing internet deliveries ;) ) If there was a problem with the delivery or condition you should have contacted Interflora directly. They are (for my money) still the best, I had a fab bunch of flowers plus a teddy for Valentines Day through Interflora :D

Not that he sends me flowers often but yes, Interflora have put my husband back in the good books a couple of times..........(being away for my 40th which included cancelling our joint 40th party and a cruise being just one of the occasions !!). Definately the best flowers I've ever had. The florist they use are just a few miles away - I was so impressed the first time he used them that I phoned to tell them.

Have to agree about Interflora - it depends on the local florist. With one exception the flowers we've ordered through them have been nice. The exception was when husband and I had a big row and I'd taken myself home to Mummy for a day or two. Himself sent a dozen red roses to Mum's house - and 11 of them were dead with the 12th barely hanging in there. I laughed so much that it was instant reconciliation. :)

I agree about Interflora mel
My Mum and Dad moved to the Isle of Skye a few years ago.
I ordered a vase of Lillies through Interflora to be delivered on their anniversary. I ordered it on time to be delivered that day, but then I had a phone call saying because you have to go over the Skye Bridge at Localsh which is the only way over to the island (and it costs a toll charge) they said the last delivery had already been made for the day. I was a bit upset and the lovely lady paid for a taxi to take the flowers and pay teh toll charge of about £4.50 to get them to my mum on time.!
That's service for you!

I have used this company many times.
http://www.flowersdirect.co.uk/ They are VERY good and if you put the order in before 1 or 2pm, then they will deliver the same day. :-) I have always been very pleased with them and the flowers are always what they look like in the pictures. Hope that helps. :-)

Debenhams Flower service is also excellent!
