How do you if your dog is of show quality. My breeder was saying that it's difficult to see as most puppies need time to grow and mature. My puppy is now 7 months old, a Golden Retriever dogs
Can someone who is experienced tell me?

Thanks,

Your breeder should be able to tell you now if it's 7 months old.

Show potential puppies are picked at approx 8 weeks of age.  Sometimes they can go off, but they usually come back and achieve the original potential.  Puppies go through all sorts of funny growing stages but I would say that during the last 7 months you should have been able to tell if your puppy has show potential.

Well, if the breeder doesn't know???

You might like to try a few open shows, you'll meet other dogs of the same breed and their owners might be of help, you will also be able to compare your dog to theirs which is helpful too ;)

Best way to tell is to have a go - well, have several goes and see how it goes!
