Hi guys. I know I'm always on here about changing food because of Molly and her delicate condition but yet again I've no alternative. SHes been on Nutro from nearly 4 weeks and the poos just haven't got any better I'd love to try wafcol as I can easily get it. Any opions. I was thinking salmon and pots as I am inclined to think that its the poultry fat in the other foods (including the lamb and rice flavours) that might be the source of the problem. Any suggestions/opinions/etc. Thanks in advance.

Wafcol is fine, Hudson was on that for a while just after we first got him ...he was on JWB and had sloppy poo so we changed him to wafcol.

Salmon and potatoe is a very good food as very hypoallergenic.  I fed a dog on this once before and it worked marvels with him.  However I have found with my girl for some reason it gives her a runny tum, so she has PAH wheat/gluten free and she is fine on that.  PAH also sorted out my little boys itchy skin problem.

Wafcol salmon and potato went through my lot for a very messy shortcut!

My dog Sengi had a very itchy belly as a youngster two lots of antibiotics never cleared it up she was on pedigree complete at the time.
My vet wanted to try her on Hills capelin cod and tapioca  I rang Wafcols helpline and they advised Wafcol junior which is salmon based  and also half the price of Hills I can,t remember the other ingredient but I think it was corn. I spoke to vet and we agreed to give it a try for a month Sengis skin was clear within a fortnight also her poohs were much firmer than they,d ever been so she stayed on it,now both of my dogs are on Wafcol complete adult chicken one of them is nine and one of them is three and we,ve never had any problems with it at all.
My dogs are GSDs but if you ring the helpline they will advise you what to try for your dog

its frustrating..but it may just have to be a 'suck it and see' trial.
As you can see how varied peoples (dogs) experiences are!
I have a 'delicate little flower' ;) he didnt do well at all on Burns, JWB better but not great, just before Xmas we changed completely to Wafcol Salmon&Potato...and havent looked back I really rate it! (its the only Wafcol flavour I do rate tho')
We'r doing great on it, marked improvement.

A food is only hypoallergenic if the dog isnt allergic to anything in it;s ingredients,i think that term is very misleading ;) I also agree wafcol s&p is a decent food.

I have found supadog sensitive to be very good. JWB, Burns & Wafcol all resulted in runny poos for one of my dogs :rolleyes: but he has been lovely and firm on the supadog!

Have you tried Naturesdiet? I myself have never tried it cause it is not offered here but have heard it is really good food from this forum awhile back... Am hoping they bring it where I live would love to feed my dogs it, its suppose to be as close to raw I believe.  http://www.naturediet.net/index.html   It doesn't have a long winded ingredients like most dry dogfood does to preserve it.... Have you tried canned dogfood at all? That has less ingredients and not all that added stuff like drydog food either.

I feed nutro lamb n' rice since the chicken gives them the poo's, when you are looking at the dogfood compare the ingredients it may be something that similar in the food itself.

She was on Nutro lamb and rice but I suspect its poultry that is causing the problem and this food has poultry fat in it. (The other little monkey is doing great on it though!! Shes made of sturdier stuff).  Last summer we did rty natures diet sensitive gold and it cleared up the sloopy poos but since august we're had supply problems and til thats well and truely sorted I need to find a dry that works. Also at 6am i was struggling a little with the pong of it!  LOL Now who has a sensitive tummy!!! :) Where abouts do you live dollface as I believe ND deliver direct? The girls did enjoy it just a shame about supply.The chicken and rice is coming in better to the shops but we'd need the sensitive one.

Well I'll definately add it to my try next list. I'm sure she does it for the attention bless her LOL

I put my GSD on Sensitive 6 months ago & I too have never looked back. I would recommend it, I wish Burgesss made an equivalent cat food, I have recently aquired an 18month old british short haired pedigree cat (Lilac Lil) & she has the same delicate stomach!

Its good to know that Molly isn't the only one out there!  She is definatley enjoying the taste as her little tail starts wagging when she starts eating.  How long was it before your little flower was sorted? I've been introducing it slowly and tomorrow will be her first day of only wafcol.

i dont think i have heard of wafol  can you get it any were mine is on betta puupy at the moment but will be taking her off it soon

Wafcol is easily available :)
Pets at home stock it, and pet shops....and if your local pet shop doesnt then just ask them most are happy to order for you and some do delivery so its worth chatting with them :)
Its in a blue foil type bag with a great dane and an Old English on the front,if that helps you spot it :)

Ok that might be just slightly out of reach. I'm surprised they haven't started selling over there though but then again they're struggling with demand here at the now.

Just a little update. Its the first day of only wafcol and my OH has informed me that her 'business' was firmer than it has been of late. Possibly a good sign but then again one can never really tell just yet!!! :)  Thanks for all the advice  guys.

hiya, just to say buffy tried the wafcol salmon and potato she loved it except she couldnt go through the night without another poo.... every night without fail she needed another pooh about 3.30am (ouch) which i coped with most for the summer last year but the winter was the final straw ( i love her but 3.30am in the snow and frost in my dressing gown was scaring the neighbours!) so now shes on the JWB Fish, but thinking of changing her back to wafcol as shes not as keen on JWB not that shes ever that keen on eating. But she would only then get fed every lunchtime as she doesnt do eating in the morning!!

It was the first food that kept her poo solid, JWB does but not always.
